CAFClive
·CAFClive: I'm in the air during tonights game so no updates I'm afraid.
·CAFClive: 3-1ft. debut goal for Fry the only real positive from defeat
·CAFClive: 3-1. Matt Fry, just subbed on for his debut, grabs a late one back. a consolation but he won't care
·CAFClive: 3-0. somewhat deja vu as Huddersfield bag another in the closing stages of the half
·CAFClive: 2-0ht. worner the busier gk on his debut but he couldn't keep the hosts out completely, with two late goals the difference at the half
·CAFClive: 2-0. a quick-fire double
·CAFClive: 1-0. hosts take the lead near the end of the first half
·CAFClive: Starting XI vs Huddersfield: Worner; Francis, Dailly, Doherty, Jackson; Wagstaff, Semedo, McCormack, Reid; Abbott, Martin
·CAFClive: 1-1ft. disappointing result. #cafc actually tried to play, bt oppo v negative & ref v fussy & inconsistent. our wingplay again the highlight
·CAFClive: 5mins for stoppages. should be even more

CAFC 2-0 LCFC: A Professional Job
Just got back from The Valley. I thought we played well in the first half, although not as well as the midweek game (I remember that for the first half an hour or so against Norwich that they hardly touched the ball). We started brightly, with some nice passing moves and good general movement meaning we often found space to attack Leicester.

CAFC vs Braga
So I went to the game today against Jorge's boys. Not sure if their side was full strength - remember it's two weeks until their domestic league starts - but considering they're a UEFA Cup team I thought we did OK.
Defence was alright and you can't really say that...

My wishes for next season
Next season with our quest to get straight back up to the Premier League I think it's really important that the Charlton team acquire the necessary skills in facets of the game that not only have been lacking from performances of arguably the last two seasons but also skills that will get us goals and wins. For me there are four crucial areas:

Andy Reid and Next Season
IMO Andy Reid is far more effective when played in the middle of the pitch than out wide on the left. But Pardew does have a bit of a dilemma: does he play Andy Reid as a 'second striker' in behind (hopefully) Benty or Iwelumo in a 451 formation or does he play an adventurous 442 with 2 out and out strikers (Varney and Iwelumo) backed up by 2 pacy wingers (or 1 creative, 1 speedy) with Andy Reid given the playmaker role in midfield. We would require a defensively minded midfielder to sit in behind Reidy and Song would do the business wonderfully. However, can we play an adventurous 442 system week in-week out?

Radostin Kishishev
I'll be sorry to see Kish go; he's been one of my favourite players for years.
I could never understand the amount of stick that people used to give him. All they ever did was pick on the misplaced passes and the wayward shooting but ignored all the good bits about his game, either through choice or they were blind to it.
